Biography

Professor J. Axel Zeitler is Professor of Microstructure Engineering and Deputy Head of Department (Research) at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge.  

Professor Zeitler completed his PhD at the University of Otago in New Zealand in 2006 before joining the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology.  

He is the leader of the Terahertz Applications research group at CEB. His research interests include material characterisation, non-destructive imaging using terahertz spectroscopy and magnetic resonance; and bring terahertz sensors out of the lab and into industry.  

He is a fellow of Gonville and Caius college.
